In the breastfeeding classes I teach, I take time to emphasize that there are ways for working moms to still continue breastfeeding their babies. It will take a lot of effort and determination, yes, but it is possible and doable. As with most challenges, it can be accomplished with preparation and education for the part of the family expecting a newborn. ????
Going Green – Eco Brick
We began by putting small sachets of plastics on the containers mixing them up with medium sized plastics. Our goal shifted from making eco-bricks to just stuffing plastic into the bottles. After about 3 weeks, we noticed that our trash output reduced significantly from using a big trash bag, down to just a big sando bag. If I were to guess, it would be about 50%-60% less in volume. As it turned out, we were throwing out a lot of plastic to begin with.
Baby, where? Oh, BabyWEAR!
It was at that time when I started to realize I need more hands than just two, when I started wanting to do other things while carrying our baby girl Tala around. Mundane stuff like fold her clothes, fix her sleeping area, eat with two hands, go on a walk outside, and perhaps even go to the mall.
Then and Now at 38
A couple of shortcomings I have as a person are my pride and my ego. I grew up being an achiever and a leader and I hardly failed at anything I set my heart and mind out to do. That is, until 10 years ago—when no matter how hard I tried to “handle everything” in my life, I could not.

#Mommying
Motherhood has been preoccupying me ever since our baby was born. I do not mean this in a bad way, I am just stating this as a matter of fact. After all, my most favorite hat to wear lately—among my many hats, for we all wear many hats in one lifetime—is the one that says “Mommy”.
DIY Octahedron Mobile
The Octahedron mobile is the second mobile in the Montessori series that we made. Here is our own simple step-by-step guide to creating your own Octahedron mobile.
Mobile What?
So what exactly are infant mobiles? No, we are not talking about mobile phones for infants here but the type of magical device that you hang over your baby’s crib to amuse them for hours.
Sweet Slumber Little Star
A baby’s deep sleep is heaven for parents, as most would probably agree. Hitting two birds with one stone, it gives our baby the much-needed “brain care” as our pediatrician calls it; AND, it gives the parents some equally much-needed time to perhaps take a bath or eat or rest.
Bless Me Forward
Have you ever been in a situation where in you were anticipating a problem, and you were sure that it was coming your way, and way before the problem landed on your lap, it found a way to solve itself before arriving?
Little Jedi
Her cry wakes us up faster than any alarm clock.
Her sounds are all cute for us.
Her ten tiny fingernails grow so sharp so fast and it takes us about an hour to trim just half of them!
The Beginning of Our Breastfeeding Journey
I believe that every mother has her own unique and beautiful birth story, let me humbly share the story of the beginning of our breastfeeding journey.
Pregnancy Go-Bag and Other Must Haves

Got Milk?
Breastfeeding. Most men in general, myself included, don’t care about it since we literally don’t know how to breastfeed. As far as we are concerned, breastfeeding is a woman’s job. Is it really?
Our Birth Story
It has been a month and several days since we became parents. We’ve made so many plans and prepared for so many things prior to giving birth. What we didn’t see was the plan that God prepared for us was greater than all of the things we have planned and prepared for.
Spreading the Love
I held back my tears and we both looked at Tala sleeping in her Moses basket. “I just put her to sleep. It’s one of my daily triumphs, En—to put her down…”
Changing Diapers
“Oh no, it’s my fault again! Me again!” I sobbed in Bisaya. I forgot to seal that soiled diaper and put it in the garbage bin when I cleaned her poop right before we gave her a bath. :’(
Six Hands
I really think first-time moms should have at least 6 hands! I need one for holding my baby’s head. And one for holding her back and butt. Also one for holding my breast where she nurses. Another for holding the milk container for catching the drip from the other breast. The fifth hand is for… Continue reading Six Hands
